It’s Time To Invest In You

If you think the price of education is high, try the price of ignorance.  You get paid for what you know.  You get penalized for what you don’t know.

Like me, you have made investments in things, commodities, properties, equities, businesses that you could not control.  The best word to describe how these investments have turned out would be the one word “surprise”. You’re surprised how good it went.  You’re surprised how bad it turned out.  You’re surprised how flat the market was.  Whether you are a turtle or a hare - you stuck your neck out, shelled your assets out and voilà - SURPRISE.  Now you get to and you’ve got to live with that surprise.

Take responsibility for your future. Responsibility has to do with hope and control.  When you take responsibility you stop cursing what is and start choosing what can be.  You vote hope onto your team. You make decisions, you determine and you design your future.

It’s time to start making investments in something that you can control - YOU.  The best way to predict your future is to create it.  The best way to create it is to invest in it.  The best investment you can make in your future is an investment in you.

Here are four investments you can make in you.

1            READ 

If you read like a bum, you live like a bum. Buy the book. Snag a pen and as you read, underline the insights, wisdom, and premium stuffing right into you.

2            GO BACK TO SCHOOL 

One year from now you will be so glad you took the course, enrolled in that class, and passed the exam.  You’re no longer that major goof off who barely scrapped through.  You now know what you need to study and why you need this stuff. When education becomes an investment in you, you read, you study, you do the assignment, you show up for class, you ask questions, you pay the price in time and effort, and wow, you really end up with useful things in your for-life toolbox. 

3        GET A GREAT LIFE COACH ON YOUR TEAM

I don’t know of any investment you could make in you that will give you more hope and control of your future than this one.

4        HANG OUT WITH PEOPLE WHO ARE SMARTER, RICHER, BETTER EDUCATED THAN YOU. 

      You won’t like it at first but you’ll love it at last.   You become like, live like and 

      earn money like the people you hang out with.  Your friends will always mess you

      up.  Get some new friends who will mess you up for good.

 
So, why in the world wouldn’t someone like you make these four investments?

Don’t give me that no money, no time, no brains, no opportunity bologna. (I know the other “B” word.)  You’ve got all the money, all the time, all the brains and all the opportunity you need to get a hold on hope and to take back control of your future.

There is a price tag on the hope and the control that flexes forward towards the new, the smarter, the more valuable, yes, the more productive you.  I’m talking about an investing.
